I paint abstracts and the Baltic coast in a studio in Vilnius, Lithuania. Every painting is scanned at high resolution and released as museum-quality Giclée prints on 100% cotton rag — from €75, in sizes from 12 × 16 to 41 × 83 inches. Originals are one of one and available on request.
One painter, one studio — Vilnius, Lithuania.
Canvas, paper, ceramics and digital work: abstraction and allegory about how people behave around one another.
Born and raised in Vilnius, where most of the nature I saw as a child was the family summerhouse. One academic year of high school in the USA. As a teenager I was impressed by large sums of money and men in suits with determined chins, so I went and studied international trade. Media planning followed, then a general finance broker’s licence — I lasted two weeks in that job and went back to the craft.
Painting arrived sideways. I enrolled at the Vilnius Academy of Arts to study architecture, a family tradition, and a monotype assignment in one of the studios turned into a practice that never stopped. Point, line and space opened up there, and they are still opening. Paintings are energy: I don’t stop until a work starts to sound, but I always know when it is finished.
